The Hawkeye Natives was an organization created in the early 1900s that limited its membership to white males over the age of 50 who where born in Des Moines County. A cabin was erected for their meetings in 1910. Today a replicated cabin stands in Crapo Park, acting as a museum of pioneer furniture and tools. It is open May through October on Saturdays and Sundays from 1:30pm to 4:30pm.
