Watch bikers attempt to ride up Snake Alley during the Snake Alley Criterium. Held on the Memorial Day Weekend at the end of May, Burlington's Snake Alley Criterium is part of an annual bike race that runs from Wapello, Iowa, through Burlington, Iowa, to Muscatine, Iowa, before ending at Rock Island, Illinois.

Each year people flock to Burlington's riverside for the annual Steamboat Days. During the six-day festival, live music performances are held daily on outdoor stages, playing jazz, rock, country, oldies and many other genres of music. Fireworks, a midway, a parade, food vendors and exhibits are also included during the celebrations.
